To help us achieve this mission we are looking for an experienced compliance specialist to join our driven and Risk & Compliance team.
What you will do
You will be part of the Risk & Compliance team, currently consisting of 7 colleagues in Risk Management & Compliance positions. The team culture can best be described as open, collaborative, passionate and eager. All members are professionals, taking the extra mile to support the organization. The team is (mainly) located in the Breda office, our Headquarters
As a Compliance Specialist, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that our operations, products, and services comply with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards across multiple jurisdictions and internal policies, while aligning with our core values. You will focus on operationalizing compliance requirements in a practical and business-friendly manner, enabling our teams to navigate the complex regulatory landscape with confidence and efficiency. You will be a hands-on, pragmatic professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about embedding compliance into the business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Product, Engineering, and Operations, to identify and mitigate compliance risks while enabling the business to achieve its goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operationalize Compliance: Use translations from Legal on complex laws, regulations, and internal policies into clear, actionable processes and guidelines that are easy to implement across the organization.
Policy Development & implementation: Develop, update, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and align with CM.com’s values and business objectives. Conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure policies remain current and effective.
Training & Awareness: Design and deliver engaging compliance training programs to educate employees on regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and company policies. Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the company.
Monitoring & Auditing: Conduct regular compliance assessments, audits, and risk analyses to identify gaps and ensure adherence to applicable laws and internal policies together with risk management colleagues.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing pragmatic compliance advice and solutions that support business operations without compromising regulatory obligations.
Incident Management: Investigate compliance breaches, incidents or complaints, recommend corrective actions, and ensure implementation of measures to prevent recurrence.
Regulatory Updates: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and proactively communicate changes to the organization together with the legal department.
Reporting: Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting key risks, trends, and recommendations for improvement.

Additionally, you ideally have
Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, business administration, compliance, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or risk management role, preferably within the technology, payments, or telecommunications industry.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations, such as GDPR, AML, PSD2, and other industry-specific compliance requirements.
Pragmatic Approach: Ability to balance regulatory requirements with business needs, offering practical and scalable compliance solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Integrity: High ethical standards and a commitment to fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.
