Java/Kotlin Developer

Join the In Person Payments (IPP) Teams and help us shape the future of payments

Job description

We connect @CM.com

CM.com is a global and fast-growing technology company that is publicly listed. You might have already used our products by receiving SMS or WhatsApp messages, buying tickets for events or festivals, chatting with our AI-powered chatbot for support, or using our Payments Products. Our goal is to help our customers provide the best possible experience to their end-users.

Although our work may be highly technical, we understand the importance of the people who work here. Our team is made up of ambitious, caring, and entrepreneurial individuals who work together every day to overcome any challenge. Our company philosophy has remained the same since we first began in 1999: "Do what you love, do what you're good at, and contribute."

What you will do

Join the In Person Payments (IPP) Teams as a software engineer. We are a multidisciplinary SCRUM team focused on simplifying payments, consisting of 9 individuals including QA engineers, Product Owner, and Backend and Frontend Developers. Our team in the IPP domain is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and operating various products within CM.com’s In Person Payments proposition.

Our goal is to transform the platform into a sustainable and scalable architecture while delivering features that empower our customers and drive their growth. We aim to create a highly maintainable platform that enables merchants to connect with customers and reach numerous establishments.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for triaging and resolving reported bugs, as well as refactoring older parts of our application to enhance maintainability. Since we have some legacy applications, proficiency in using an IDE, confidence in the compiler, and expertise in refactoring are essential.

We are seeking a software engineer with strong proficiency in JVM technologies, particularly in Kotlin. Previous experience in working with payment systems in card present or card not present environments is highly advantageous.

Job requirements

You connect with us, if you have

  • 5+ years of experience with developing software on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) stack (Java 11+, Kotlin);
  • Worked with frameworks like Quarkus and Springboot, using tooling for Containerization like Docker, Kubernetes;
  • Gradle and Git experience to build and test software;
  • Experience in the Payment industry; such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and Europay MasterCard Visa (EMV).
  • Fluency in English. Fluency in Dutch or Spanish is an advantage as the team is distributed in Amsterdam and Madrid.

You live within commuting distance from our Madrid Office (Nuevos Ministerios).
